At 8 am i met the friend of Timo my host who gave me a lift to a good spot where to hitch-hike to Russia. I walked for one hour though to find the right place. After 15 minutes a russian driver stopped. He brought me to Saint-Petersburg.
He spoke only a few words in english. I spoke a few words in russian so we could communicate a bit. We crossed the border together. Full a cameras. Three different parts for the controls. I had to fill up papers and to show the passport and the visa. The driver waited me at that time. Then we were in Russia.
We drove near a lake, through forests and arrived in Saint-Petersburg.
“Welcome to Saint-Petersburg!” Said the driver.
He gave me a coin for the metro and left me in a subway station.
I met my host Ivan who hosted me two nights and two girls, friends of my second host who had to cancel my stay for reasons i don’t know.
I spent time visiting around and i visited Hermitage for five hours. Saint-Petersburg is considered as the cultural capitale of Russia.
