11. The 14th of October : hitch-hiking from Velikiy Novgorod to Moscow.

My hosts in Velikiy Novgorod were amazing. They are Alexey and Mila. They organised a party for my birthday. Food, cake, drinks, music, we jammed together. The atmosphere was great. My first birthday abroad and it was in Russia.

Alexey found for me a car through facebook. A driver accepted to take me for free from Novgorod to Moscow. Such a luck. We left on sunday evening around 8.30 pm. We arrived the day after at about 4.30 am.

I met my hosts Pervana and Oleg who hosted me two nights. Then Sasha hosted two nights in Moscow as well. Sasha had four flatmates. Sasha, Sasha and Sasha! I couldn’t believe that! The way i met them and was introduced to me was so funny.

One of the flatmates of my host, (so Sasha), invited me to visit his wife and their Baby in a village called Kimry, 129 km from Moscow. I took a train to there and spent one night in Kimry. I was hosted in this house near a farm. We picked up eggs, some berries in a forest, asked goat milk from a babouchka. I met one guy the farm who said :” You, tomorrow, Bania.”. I went in this communal sauna with many naked russian men beating each other with leaves in a room under more than 80 degrees.

Authentic experience.
